Emaar announces Dh1.5 billion Dubai Mall expansion

Emaar Properties has announced an investment of Dh1.5 billion to expand Dubai Mall. The expansion will host 240 new luxury retail and dining outlets and the contractor is already mobilising on-site.

Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Emaar Properties, said, “The new Dubai Mall expansion is a great addition to one of the most visited sites in the world. This expansion reflects Dubai’s ambitious vision to remain at the forefront of global innovation and culture, further solidifying our city’s position as a top global destination.”

In 2023, Dubai Mall broke attendance records, welcoming 105 million visitors, noting a 19 percent increase from the prior year, accompanied by robust sales.

Inaugurated in 2008, Dubai Mall retains its global retail and leisure prominence in 2024. With more than 1,200 retail outlets and 200 dining venues, the mall currently spans an area of 1.2 million square metres.
