IHG Hotels & Resorts to open the first Voco hotel in Sharjah in 2027

IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the largest hotel operators in the world, and Sharjah Asset Management said, they will open the first voco hotel in Sharjah in 2027. The hotel will be strategically located on the Al Dhaid-Masafi Road at a convenient distance from Sharjah International Airport. With 191 rooms, suites and recreational facilities like gym and spa, the hotel will appeal to tourists through its premium hospitality.

As one of the world’s renowned hospitality companies, IHG attempts to mark its presence in the Emirate’s hospitality industry through this collaborative project. It is currently expanding the footprint of Voco, one of the 18 brands owned by IHG Hotels and Resorts. Voco, which is derived from the Latin word meaning “to invite”, will consist of retail outlets and offices, thereby staying true to its essence of attracting tourists and businesses alike. It will also feature around 5,000 square feet of versatile meeting spaces for conferences, events, and business gatherings.

Al Sayegh pointed out that through its extensive tourism offers, the Emirate of Sharjah has succeeded in strengthening its position on the regional tourism map, leading to an increasing demand for high-quality hospitality options.

The new voco Sharjah will join the growing list of recent voco brand signings across the region including Riyadh, Cairo, and Beirut.
