Arada, the UAE-based master developer, has announced its global expansion with the launch of operations in Australia. It has set up a new office in Pyrmont, Sydney and plans to invest US$1.63 billion (Dh6 billion) in multiple projects aimed at alleviating Sydney’s housing shortage and supporting urban renewal. The developments, adding over 2,500 homes to the market with sales and construction beginning in 2025, will also include extensive commercial and retail spaces, boosting local employment.
Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group Chief Executive Officer, Arada said, “Arada is passionate about delivering activated precincts that deliver a community-based approach to housing supply. Our initial projects in Sydney are strategically located within growth corridors, aligning with local government initiatives to expand housing near transport hubs and minimizing strain on existing infrastructure.”
In Australia, Arada will offer diverse, high-quality housing with innovative amenities and community events. Developments will feature green spaces, retail outlets, and Arada’s Wellfit facilities for active, healthy living. Partnering with global architectural and consulting firm Woods Bagot, Arada aims to bring its vision to the Australian market.
“With a strong financial position, an impressive track record and a dedicated local team, we are poised to make a positive impact on our future residents and the communities we serve” said Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, who will lead Australian operations and business growth.
Since its 2017 launch, Arada has completed six major projects in Sharjah and Dubai, including Aljada, Masaar, and Armani Beach Residences, with total sales reaching Dh60 billion. In 2023, Arada’s property sales surged 100 percent to Dh7.02 billion compared to the previous year. To date, the developer has sold 14,000 units worth over Dh17 billion, with more than 9,000 units completed.
