Developers Shurooq and Diamond Developers said, their Sharjah Sustainable City (SSC) has exceeded Dh2.5 billion in sales across its four phases in the first half of 2024.

“With only a few of the original 1,250 villas remaining, this achievement underscores the rising demand for sustainable living and offers a final opportunity for buyers. This success supports Sharjah’s real estate market, which saw a 35.6percent increase in trade value in first half of 2024 compared to 2023, boosting investor confidence and showcasing Sharjah’s unique market advantages,” the developers said in a statement.

Sharjah Sustainability City, a leading mixed-use development, excels in social, environmental, and economic sustainability, achieving Net Zero Energy and attracting those seeking eco-friendly living. It features three, four, and five-bedroom villas priced between Dh2.7 million and Dh3.75 million. With the first two phases complete and the third phase nearing handover, the final phase is next. Buyers can enjoy incentives such as zero service fees for five years and flexible payment plans for all nationalities, making sustainable living more accessible.

Yousif Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chief Executive Officer of Sharjah Sustainable City, said, “As a strategic supporter of the Government of Sharjah’s sustainable development objectives, we are thrilled by the overwhelming response to Sharjah Sustainable City — a clear indicator of the rising demand for sustainable living solutions in Sharjah. We are proud to see our vision of an eco-conscious community resonating so strongly with residents and investors from different countries. As we welcome more residents, we look forward to continuing to set new benchmarks for sustainable urban development and making our city a globally renowned development.”

Spanning 7.2 million square feet in Sharjah’s Al Rahmaniya, the city transcends typical residential developments, serving as a model for future urban sustainability with its focus on food security, resource management, and conservation. It supports Sharjah’s urban growth with amenities promoting sustainable living, including urban farming, green spaces, walking and cycling paths, gyms, a pool, EV charging stations, and a library. Villas feature smart home technology, energy-efficient appliances, thermal insulation, smart automation, and rooftop solar panels, cutting utility bills by up to 50percent.

By nurturing a sustainable community that aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and promotes a low-carbon future, the development enhances residents’ quality of life while safeguarding future generations’ needs. It also offers valuable research opportunities across sustainability disciplines. The city prioritises knowledge sharing and actively educates residents, including women and children, on sustainability topics. Regular workshops and events provide hands-on training in sustainable food, water, and energy practices.
