iFlytek launches AI-powered Smart Space to automate homes

Staff Report

Dubai, UAE

Smart homes are nothing new in the UAE. As the quality of living continues to upgrade, the affluent and tech-savvy population look for innovative solutions that can control fundamental house systems with little to no human interference. Equipped with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), smart homes are a manifestation of elevated lifestyle. Homeowners can amplify comfort, security, sustainability, flexibility, and overall home management efficiency through the use of such technology. iFlytek, an international technology solutions company, has launched Smart Space, an AI-integrated home solution, at GITEX Global in Dubai, UAE. The solution has been designed to enhance property value, improve energy efficiency, and enrich residents’ quality of life through intuitive, centralised home control.

Leveraging the in-house SPARK LLM technology, iFlytek has developed Smart Space to manage essential home functions such as lighting, air conditioning, curtains, and security from a single, user-friendly interface with offline voice and touch control.

Smart Space functions like a personal home assistant, programmed to be at the beck and call of residents. It is a smart panel that goes beyond traditional home controls by integrating multiple functions into an interface. Residents can manage an entire network of connected devices from one screen. The solution offers multimodal interaction options, including touch panels, apps, and voice commands, overcoming the limitations of traditional single-panel systems. With a 99 percent nearby wake-up rate, the system ensures responsive interactions across rooms, allowing residents to easily control their environment regardless of where they are in the home.

Once installed, Smart Space centrally controls the home’s five functions: security, environmental, sunshade, lighting and background music. It can be used to set scenario-based modes, such as welcome and goodbye modes, and prayer modes designed specifically for Muslim users. The solution’s flexibility allows homeowners to personalise settings as per their living habits and preferences.

Smart Space Solution features AI Translation Screen which is designed to provide real-time, multilingual communication at high-traffic service points such as airports, metro stations, and hotels. This eliminates language barriers in residential communities with international residents and in commercial properties with global visitors.

To meet the demand for automated smart homes in the Middle East, particularly the UAE, real estate developers can integrate Smart Space into their projects, offering intelligent control and multilingual functionality. Moreover, they can implement wake-up words and custom interfaces in homes to curate smart living experiences ensuring maximised convenience and security for residents.
