Star Business Centre launches attractive summer promotion to help Start-ups and SMEs in Dubai

Star Business Centre, which operates three business centres in Dubai, has launched a summer promotion for start-ups and small businesses, including Serviced Office for Dh9,999, Smart Office for Dh14,999 and Dedicated Office for Dh19,999 per annum that includes rent of office space, utility, telecom as well as support services including maintenance, secretarial and Ejari rent registration services.

The Service Office Package includes office rent, utility, maintenance and IT support for Dh9,999; while the Smart Office package includes utility, maintenance, IT support and Public Relations Officer (PRO) services for Dh14,999 for a year.

The Dedicated Office space that is offered for Dh19,999, comes with utility, maintenance, IT support, Ejari rent registration and sponsorship.

“These packages reduces the cost and hassles of setting up a business and helps the start-ups and small businesses so that they can focus on the core business itself and reach a break-even point or profitability sooner than expected,” Imran Farooq, Group Chief Executive Officer of Samana Group, says.

“Most start-ups and small businesses face tremendous challenge in just setting up the business, including obtaining a trade license and selecting office space, face inspection, approval and finally involve in office decoration and furniture – that could take anywhere between 3 to 6 months and drain part of the start-up capital.

“Star Business Centre’s new plug-and-play package helps start-ups and small businesses to set up fast – while it takes care of the licensing, paper works and logistics with the small fee that covers government fees and other costs – so that the start-ups could focus on their actual business.”

Start-up funding in the Middle East and North Africa region jumped 31 percent to US$893 million (Dh3 billion) in 2018. Star Business Centre’s office packages are ideal solution for many of these start-ups and small businesses.

Star Business Centre has also launched complete office package for small companies that includes fully-furnished office that can accommodate up to six people, Dubai Land Department’s Ejari rental package, utilities, telecom, secretarial and maintenance all for just Dh4,000 per month.

Alan James Gammon, General Manager of Samana Group, that operates the Star Business Centres, says, “The idea is that you focus on business development and increase sales and cash flow while we take care of the licensing, sponsorship, rent registration, office décor and furniture as well as facilities management of the office – to offer greater comfort in doing business – for a small fee.

“Star Business Centre’s products are tailored to strengthen ease of doing business – reduce time and efforts in business licensing and registration process by offering a one-stop service point for all permissions. We also offer co-working space for greater convenience to those who are starting a single person operation.”

Flexible and co-working space is gaining popularity across the world gradually. Co-working is a full-blown industry that has disrupted the real estate industry and the way people work.

There are an estimated 35,000 flexible workspaces in the world today, which represents 521 million square feet of flexible space. The global market value of flexible workspaces is estimated at an approximate $26 billion, according to industry research.

In 2018, the number of co-working spaces rose 16 percent in the U.S. and 36 percent outside the U.S. Between 2014 and end of 2018, the number of flexible workspace locations expanded by more than 205 percent while the number of operators expanded by more than 138 percent.

Demand for co-working space in the UAE is set to grow due to changing economic environment and the changing working culture among the young entrepreneurs.

The current supply of flexible office space stock in Dubai is around 700,000 square feet from 55 projects, according to Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), a global real estate advisory. This is about 1 percent of the total office space stock in Dubai.

JLL forecasts this could grow to about 5 per cent by 2022. In comparison, there are 110-plus such locations in Tokyo and more than 210 in London alone.

Star Business Centre also helps new investors to set up companies at a very cost effective price that reduces operating cost to bare minimum. The new packages will help the new start-ups to get going with minimum cost.

Star Business Centre is an initiative of Samana Group aimed at helping small businesses and start-ups to grow. They are located at Business Bay and Jumeirah Lake Towers.

Company officials can also avail parking space for a small additional fee.

New and existing businesses could look at Star Business Centre’s multiple packages that could help them reduce operating costs by a half or more. A Dh4,000 per month office rent that can host 5-6 working professionals, is a major advantage. This way, Star Business Centre is fulfilling a gap in the market and is becoming a major business enabling facility provider.
